Welcome to our blog! We are missionaries to Spain who use photography to be a blessing to other missionaries and pastors. Since then, God has truly blessed our hobby and we are enjoying taking pictures even more! Feel free to comment! We love hearing about people and sharing experiences on photography, missions, and God!

Sneak peek: baby J

And it was about time that we posted pictures right?
Here is baby J! We took pictures of him this morning, on his 13th day of life! It was one of the best studio sessions we've had! Perfect light, perfect lens (we totally love our 50mm), and perfect baby! He was so cute and so peaceful during the entire session! He barely complained, and just slept during most of the photo shoot!
We hope you like these pictures! Just such a cute baby makes these pictures cute!!!!!

We just got our 50mm 1.4!!!!

We are so excited about it!!!! Today, I got the little note in the mail saying that since we were not home, we had to pick it up at the post office on the next day. Great! another day we have to wait! But since I'm Mrs. Impatient (usually very patient about everything, but very impatient about things I get excited about!), I decided to try and go to the post office today at a time close to closing, instead of waiting till tomorrow... and wohoooo! the package was there! We just took a few shots around the house to try it, and we already love it. Tack sharp eyes! It is a great lens!
We will be using it for our next session on saturday! :D

Have a great day!

A little tip

We are still waiting to receive our new lens and our new business cards! I'm so excited about them that the first thing I do when I have a break is check the mail, lol

We are having a few photo shoots coming up! We are sorry for the lack of posts with our latest sessions! We will be able to post them in about a week, and we will post our upcoming sessions as soon as we can!

I would like to leave you with a photography tip :) (for those of you that love photography) Besides of finding the best light, once we start editing images, one of the key things to us is CONTRAST! That is something that we like to increase in our images! Shoot RAW, add contrast, and if the images have been properly exposed, just add contrast and you will get amazing results!!!! Sounds like the easiest thing on earth, and sorry if you might probably now this already. But we hope it was a help to those are starting to learn about photo editing ;)

I remember a few months ago, when I started learning to edit images, I would just look for photography tips everywhere, trying to figure out what our images were lacking. I thought it was the camera so I tried to figure out what camera would give me a magazine style picture editing! Hello! What was I thinking? The camera does not make the picture, the photographer does! You can do great things with the cheapest DSLR camera! Although the better the camera, the more flexibility and quality...After some practice with light and poses, exposing properly, and playing around with post-processing, voila! We got what we were looking for! And it was easier than what we thought! Of course, we still don't have magazine pictures, but we found the style we were looking for :)

Here is an example of a picture that was shot in RAW and just added contrast and sharpening:

Have a wonderful day!!!

Our super blessed day! And don't forget about our LOVE Special Edition photo sessions!

Praise God we finally got the car we've been wanting!!! God has truly blessed us so much! And it has been an answer to our prayers! We drove it today to Murfreesboro and it is sooooo nice! We love it!!! One thing that I really love is that it has a plug! So guess... Nate driving, Arancha using the computer every once in a while.... no problem running out of battery for long trips.... ha!

Today we had the opportunity to spend the evening with Nate's mom and sisters, and we got to see our new nephew! He is adorable! We both held him and got some pictures taken with and of him! Babies are such a miracle! We can't wait to see him again! Then my wonderful husband took me to Chilli's, which is one of my favorite restaurants here! I was hoping to get one of those molten cakes, but man! I get full so fast! I guess Nate is gonna have to take me back one of these days, hehe

And today we also purchased a lens! I have heard great things about this lens and we can't wait to try it out this week!!!! wohoooo!!!!! It is the 50 mm 1.4. I can get really picky about sharpness, so we definitely want to just use prime lenses :)

God is just too good to us! We are so excited about all the new things that are going on in our lives!

And the biggest blessing of all! We are going to be able to teach a class for children in our church! We love teaching kids and being able to use it for the glory of God! :)

It has been a great day! We just missed having a photo shoot but we've been so busy trying to get things worked out down here that we have had no time for photography! How sad! But we have received some of our new branding material and we are preparing for this new session! We really can't wait!

Thank you for visiting our blog!!!! Have a great day!

Living a humble life

This week, we are having a Super Conference in our church! And it is being such a blessing! There was a sermon that really got my attention yesterday. The preacher talked about proudness. Sometimes, we forget how great and good our God is! And this helped me remember that we are so little compared to Him! So many verses in the Bible talk about how God will bless those that are humble! And something very important to me is to remember that all the things I can do, it's because God has given me that ability, or we could say, that gift. I am so thankful for the things God has allowed me to do! Without Him, we would not be able to accomplish all the things we have accomplished. Photography is one of them! It is something we love and after much prayer, God has allowed us to grow and learn so much in the past months! But like I always say: there is a lot more we need to learn!
We never share a lot about ourselves when we blog, so we figured we would share a little about what God has been speaking to us lately. We trust that He will do the best with whatever we give to Him, and He has proved it to us in many ways!
We are so excited about the little projects we have for the next months!
Have a wonderful day!

Stephen and Jacqueline

Jacqueline and Stephen were so cute during this session! We met them at college, and we've always thought that they were such a cute couple! We were so glad to hear that they wanted to book us! The photo shoot was great! A lot of fun! At the end of the photo shoot, we went in the library to take some pictures. They library staff were very nice to allow us to do this :) This was actually the first time we took pictures at a library! So when Mandie and Garan told us about her loving to read, we knew we had to take some of their pictures at a library too! And we had the opportunity to try different shots and poses!  We really enjoy trying different places and scenarios when we do photo shoots, and now that we live in Alabama, we can't wait to find all these new beautiful places to take pictures at!

Stephen and Jacqueline, thank you so much! :D

Don't pay attention to this book because we have no idea what it was, lol We just like the title :)

I loved how natural they were, and when they put their foreheads together like this! So cute!

A car!!!

We're gonna be searching for a car today! We have seen one that we want really bad but we are  hoping that God will show us the right one! :)
It is one of the few things we have left to do to settle down here! Just a little bit more of paper work! And every day, we love being here more! God keeps blessing us so much!
And since posts are not the same without an image, here is one more of Garan and Mandie!

A couple of hours to rest!-updated :)

Finally a weekend to slow down after a veeeery busy week!!!! wohoooo! just an update! we are eating a stuffed crust supreme pizza with caffeine free dr pepper while we watch a movie! Not having to get up early in the morning, and just enjoying our cozy new home! :D Nate had class today and I did all our grocery shopping. And I couldn't resist to buy all these little things that we both enjoy eating when we are together! Cinnamon rolls, bagels, pizza, cookies, and of course, some healthy food too :) I just can't believe I like eating so bad though! I have always been such a healthy eater! But I guess I needed a little break from all those salads, sushi, and fruit that I strictly ate every day (for real, that was all I eat), which I still love, but I have found that there are other things I can eat and actually enjoy! :D And yeah, with that comes the problem: now I can't stop eating chocolate! :S
Anyways, about business: we have been working all week in designing our new packaging labels, return address labels, business cards, and we will probably be designing a few more marketing goodies! I really enjoy doing that and can't wait to see how they turn out! As I had mentioned on previous posts, we really want to personalize our business. You probably have already seen a few changes: our website and blog, and for those that have booked us, our contract formats and price lists. It took us a long time to find what we wanted, liked, and would represent who we are! But we got it and love it! An we will keep you updated!

Have a wonderful night!

Garan & Mandie

He loves photography. She loves books. Both share a passion for Mac! (who doesn't?). And we tied it all in this photo shoot! It was so fun! Of course we needed variety, so we took other pictures as well. But it was so fun to incorporate the things they love and the things they have in common in this photo session! He proposed to her with a book!!! So romantic! So we asked permission to the library staff and after their approval, we went in a took a lot of pictures of Garan and Mandie around thousands of books!
A detail that I loved is that she had an ipod that said on the back: I love you, Garan. They asked us if we could take a picture of the ipod with them. I love that picture!
And since he loves photography, we got to take a few pictures of him with his camera (while he took a couple of us... would like to see them by the way :) )
We hope you like these pictures as much as we do!!!!
And Garan and Mandie, thank you so much! It was so fun to take your pictures!!!

This is the cute ipod with Garan´s noe behind!

One of our favorite things!

Hello!!!!

We are still in our little trying-to-get-it-all-done world after moving to Alabama! We still love it here, but there has been much to do! Thank God we got it all pretty much done!
We haven't been able to do any photo shoot (it has only been one week any ways, hehe) but we have some coming up and more pictures to post!

Nate started college on monday! He really likes it and is very excited about what he will be learning this semester! I'm trying to prepare more products for our branding and future special edition photo sessions! Wanna know about it???? I can't tell you yet! But I'm very excited about it and can't wait to get it all figured out! :D Do you want to know a little hint? It has to do with love :)

BUT! I don't really like posting with no pictures! So I wanted to share a few pictures we took of Madrid. They were taken from the car, so they are not completely professional! We love architecture, old buildings, cities, and Europe! So whenever we go to Madrid, we just love walking around Madrid city, and shopping, having some chocolate con churros and just enjoying the beauty of all those buildings! We can't wait to go back to Europe and be able to visit France, Italy, etc. We just love traveling! So this is just a little bit of the things we love! We hope you like them too!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

We hope you all had a wonderful time and we wish you a very happy new year!!!! God has been blessing us greatly during our first year of marriage, and we are very thankful for that! We can't wait to see God's work and blessings in our lives for this coming year! We have started the year in our new home! And we absolutely love it! A few months ago we felt that God had called us to move to Alabama till Nate finishes school. Here we will be able to help in my home church and be involved in different ministries, which is what we really want to do: serve God and prepare for when God sends us to the mission field! Nate will attend college for a couple of years. We are very excited to be able to help in this church and we can't wait to start! We spent all tuesday moving from Tennessee to Alabama, and we have been unpacking and cleaning for a looong time! We had two wonderful families help us move on tuesday, and now we are finally done and we are so excited to live here! We love this area!
Our business will be now based in Alabama, but we will still be able to travel to any part of the world (we actually love doing that!) We actually have already some trips planned for future photo sessions!!!
We will be posting more pictures in the next days, but right now we are trying to get internet at the house and get all things settled down :)
We thank you all of you guys for having been such an encouragement and we hope we can be a blessing to you in this new year!
Have a wonderful weekend!
