Welcome to our blog! We are missionaries to Spain who use photography to be a blessing to other missionaries and pastors. Since then, God has truly blessed our hobby and we are enjoying taking pictures even more! Feel free to comment! We love hearing about people and sharing experiences on photography, missions, and God!

Baby J 6 months

Here is a cute and very cooperative baby! And he happens to be our nephew! We loved taking these pictures! He was so good and patient to us :)
And of course, it's extra nice to take pictures of a baby when he is such a handsome baby! We just love him!

Fall Festival Donations!!!!!

Madison Baptist Church will be holding their annual Fall Festival in October and are asking businesses in the area to make a donation. It is completely non-profit and the donations will be given away to different winners of games that will be played that night! I´ve never been to this festival, but I heard it is one of the most fun activities of the year! So I encourage you, if you have a business, to be a part of it by donating one of the gifts! We sure will be!!!! We are so excited about offering gift certificates in our business that we thought this could be one of the best uses! :)

Have a great day!

Baby Update

Just a quick update on our precious little baby!
We went to the doctor and everything looks good! Good strong heart, no overweight for me (just a gigantic belly for only being 16 weeks, lol), and no problems! We love hearing our little baby's heartbeat!
We will find out the gender in 4 weeks. Not sure how well I'm gonna do waiting!!!!!!!!!
We were able to have an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and we saw our baby move for the first time! So cute! The baby had the hiccups, so it was a little shocking for me to see his/her whole body shake with each hiccup! But everything was great, and ..... despite my huge belly..... and even though we were wanting it.... there is not twins! Next time!!!!! :)
I'll leave you with a not so cool picture we took ourselves of ourselves, lol There is just so much you can do with a tripod! But we'll be getting more taking by somebody else!!! Hopefully soon!!!!
Have a wonderful day!

Josh and Trina: the big day!

Some of my favorites from Josh and Trina's wedding! I loved this wedding! They mixed black and white with a pinkish tone in all the decoration and it made it all look so unique! And at the ceremony, they hang little frames with their engagement pictures on the sides of every other pew. Something I had never seen before! Very nice! :)
Congratulations Josh and Trina!! And thank you for allowing us to capture your wedding! Such a beautiful day!

Nate too this close up! I'm so jealous, he's starting to get better shots than mine lol

This one is Nate's too! I love that we both can just get totally different lenses and use totally different angles for a same pose! It gives us a lot of variety and we are able to choose the very best one!

Sharing about things we love!

We barely get a chance to share with you about our personal lives! And yes, I think it's wrong. Very wrong. Photography is not just about a pretty picture, but about everything that is involved in capturing that picture, including the photographer. The personality of the photographer has a lot to do with the style of a picture: with how the picture is captured and the feeling of it. So we want to share with you more about the photographer part of obtaining a picture, which happens to be us! :)

This is not our most favorite thing on earth, but just something we love. Today we were able to enjoy one of our favorite moments: eating desserts!!!! It's not something we do very often because we are trying to be healthy for our precious baby, but today it was friday! And why not? I was craving it!!!!!! (btw, it's so fun to be pregnant, I have an excuse to eat these things, hehe) So I called Nate and asked him to bring some ribs to share and a white chocolate molten cake with chocolate fudge and more white chocolate on top! It was a fast but joyful time :) We both are chocolate lovers and enjoy eating all kinds of cookies and desserts! So we really really really really really loved it, and are wanting some more now.... too bad! We're gonna have to wait for another week, or half a week... :)

And yes, we were too excited and impatient to take a picture of it! oops! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Photography tips: crispness

Crispness and sharpness are key factors that can make a difference in your pictures, and many photographers wonder what is the best way to obtain this. We are not the best photographers you can find, but sharpness is something we try to improve and look for in every picture. Unsharped pictures make me unhappy! Seriously! I cannot stand seeing a picture that is not tack sharp, and unfortunately, it sometimes happens. So if you like the look of our pictures, we can share with you the three main factors that helps us obtain sharp and crisp images (there are some more, but these are the top factors for us). Sure we might not have the sharpest images you can see in the whole wide world, but if it's what you're looking for, here it goes!
- Lens: a good lens can make a huuuuuge difference in your pictures. You can be using a Canon 5D Mark II, but if you don't have a good lens, your pictures won't look the same. We shoot most of our images with a 50mm 1.4. It is a prime lens and prime lenses give you the sharpest images (if used right). Hopefully we will be able to upgrade to a 50mm 1.2 soon!
- Light: finding the best light can also make a difference in your pictures as far as crispness concerns. The best light to me is around 6 or 7pm in the summer, or 4.30 or 5pm in the winter. It's lovely! It makes such a difference in our pictures!
- Speed: for moving subjects, it is very important to maintain a fast speed. Even faster for kids, who will move a lot! I try to keep my speed at 1/250 so the movement does not affect my picture, unless I see the subject move to fast, then I'll try to increase my speed.

We hope we can be a blessing with our tips. If you have any question, please let us know! The Bible says, if God gives you a gift, use it for His glory! So we are trying our best to do this and we will let you know how we want to do it. But for now, at least sharing can be a good thing to do! :)

Have a wonderful day!
